We cordially invite you for the FAR Masterclass about “What do we already know about…? Identification and negotiation of audit findings” on Wednesday 15 November 2017 at Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Breukelen, the Netherlands (welcome at 14:00 and closing drinks at 17:00). In this Masterclass one of the FAR research teams, Ann Vanstraelen and Ulrike Thürheimer, will share and bring to practice what we already know from science on the process and the consequences of evaluating misstatements in the financial statements – when, why and how does the auditor waive or require adjustment? Based on their insights and interactive (table group) discussions we aim for a mutually informative exchange between auditing practice and research on the topic: auditors detect misstatements during the audit process for which the auditor – through a so-called negotiation process with management – either requires or waives an adjustment. Because this decision will directly influence the financial reporting quality, it is important for practitioners, firms, standard setters and supervisors to know how to positively influence the effectiveness of the negotiation process over audit findings.

The FAR Masterclass, chaired by Olof Bik and Jan Bouwens, is specifically of interest for audit practitioners and firm management, auditing standards setters, audit supervisors, auditing students, auditing teachers and audit scientists. The Masterclass is open to everyone, free of charge and will be provided in Dutch. Participants of the Masterclass can apply for Dutch credits for permanent education (PE hours).

Please note that to participate registration is required. By clicking on the button to your right you can register for this event. Closing date is Sunday 12 November 2017 at 23:59.
