
Gopal Krishnan is Trustee Professor of Accountancy and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Accounting at Bentley University. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of North Texas and is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, and Certified Management Accountant. Before joining Bentley, he served as Chair of the Accounting Department at American University’s Kogod School of Business and taught at Lehigh University and George Mason University.His research focuses on audit quality, auditor independence, corporate governance, earnings management, and financial reporting. He has published over 80 articles in leading journals, including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory. His work has been featured in Bloomberg Businessweek, Accounting Today, and CFO.com. He received the 2016 Best Paper Award from the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association for his synthesis of audit-quality literature. Prof. Krishnan is also a former Senior Editor of Accounting Horizons and has served as a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar conducting research on audit quality in India.
