Jennifer R. Joe, Ph.D., CPA, is the John E. Peterson Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. Her research examines the role and impact of auditors and valuation specialists in financial reporting, audit regulation, and diversity and inclusion in accounting. She has published in leading journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Accounting, Organizations and Society. Jennifer serves as an editor at The Accounting Review, is President of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association, and sits on advisory groups for the PCAOB and the Center for Audit Quality. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Baruch College, CUNY.
