Roger Simnett is Emeritus Professor of Accounting at UNSW Sydney and Professorial Research Fellow at Deakin University’s Integrated Reporting Centre. He is internationally recognized as a leading auditing and assurance researcher, with work published in top journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, and Accounting, Organizations and Society. His research focuses on audit quality, sustainability assurance, integrated reporting, and corporate governance.

Roger has held numerous leadership roles, including Chair and CEO of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (2017–2020) and member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (2002–2005, 2019–2021). He has contributed to major standard-setting initiatives, including ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410. His achievements have been recognized with multiple awards, such as the Outstanding Auditing Educator Award (AAA), the Outstanding Contribution to Practice Award, and induction into the Australian Accounting Hall of Fame. In 2017, he was appointed Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the accountancy profession and research.
