On June 23-24, the FAR 2025 Conference took place focusing on the theme ‘Audit Organization & Innovation.’
This year’s conference program devoted much attention to the role of innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence in auditing. In her welcome address, Henriëtte Prast (FAR board chair) underlined the importance of cooperation between academia and practice: “FAR research ticks all the boxes of valuable research. It is interesting and relevant for practitioners, regulators, and/or investors; it addresses topics discussed in the media; it is recognized as important by researchers; and it deals with current and/or yet unexplored issues. FAR celebrates its tenth anniversary at the end of this year and aims to further strengthen interaction with audit firms in the coming period, as well as to further disseminate the knowledge gained from research.”
Of the nearly two hundred participants, no less than 65 percent works in audit practice. This indicates that FAR research increasingly seems to find its way into practice.
