Dr. Christine Nolder

Associate Professor

Dr. Christine Nolder, is an Associate Professor at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Christine’s research addresses relevant problems in the profession and responds to regulatory initiatives coming from the IAASB and PCAOB. She is a member of the American Accounting Association Standards Committee and has published in the following leading journals in accounting: Accounting, Organizations, and Society, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, and Accounting Horizons. She has also co-authored two chapters in the Handbook of Attitudes (2019). Her research focuses on how latent constructs such as professional skepticism, independence of mind, and due care can be measured and documented in the profession. She has also researched how to prepare economic analyses for proposed auditing standards and root cause analyses for audit deficiencies from a behavioral perspective. She is a former auditor, controller, and certified public accountant.

This special issue of MAB has been developed in collaboration with the Foundation for Auditing Research and is based on papers and discussions at the FAR conference at Nyenrode University (May 2016).
