
Jonas Vandennieuwenhuysen is a PhD researcher in Accounting at the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Business and Economics. His research focuses on auditor selection processes, particularly the institutional and interpersonal dynamics involved in choosing a new audit firm after mandatory audit firm rotation. He examines how companies and auditors navigate tendering, proposals, and relationship-building during auditor transitions, using case studies and interviews to uncover decision-making factors and governance implications.Jonas has co-authored publications in leading journals, including Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and Behavioral Research in Accounting. His work includes a systematic literature review on auditor selection and a methodological guide for accounting researchers conducting systematic reviews. He also contributed to studies on trust and commitment in auditor-client relationships and regularly presents his findings at international conferences and professional workshops.
