
Denise Hanes Downey is the KPMG Endowed Professor in Accounting at the Villanova School of Business. She holds a PhD from Bentley University, is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania, and has professional experience at PwC, KPMG, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Her research focuses on global auditing and group audits, particularly the challenges of geographically dispersed audit engagements, and has been published in leading academic journals. She is an award-winning educator who teaches auditing at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has received multiple teaching and research honors for her contributions to accounting education and scholarship.
