Professor

Prof. Diane Breesch is a Professor of Accounting and Auditing at the Solvay Business School, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). She teaches courses on financial accounting, financial reporting, and auditing, and co-authors several textbooks in these areas. Her research primarily focuses on audit quality, including auditor reporting on going concern and individual auditor characteristics. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, European Accounting Review, and Accounting Horizons.
Diane has held leadership roles at VUB, including Past Chair of the Department of Business and Academic Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Solvay Business School since 2019. She also serves as an expert member on several audit committees and combines her academic career with practical experience as a registered auditor.
