FAR News Update: Cancellation of 5th International FAR Conference on 22 and 23 June 2020
23 March 2020
Dear all,
We are closely monitoring the developments with regards to COVID-19. Given the evolving situation and after careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the residential 2020 FAR conference until June 2021.
While a difficult decision, we note the increasing spread of the coronavirus, especially in Europe, and the curtailing of international travel by universities worldwide. By deciding now and giving sufficient notice to you all, we hope to reduce the inconvenience of cancelling/rearranging air travel and other logistics. We are currently looking at hosting the next FAR conference on 21 and 22 June 2021 in Breukelen, the Netherlands, but these dates have not yet been confirmed and might still change. However, please save the date for now!
At the same time, knowledge production and sharing of the FAR research projects will continue as much as possible through other means like our papers, video blogs, practice notes and podcasts. For example, we are examining the possibility of organizing an interactive afternoon on 22 June 2020 over the web, so please keep the afternoon open if possible.
We expect to be able to confirm the dates for the 2021 conference in April of this year. In the meantime, we hope all is well with you all.
