International FAR Conference on 20 and 21 June 2022 - registration open until 12 June
The FAR conference is going live!
After two years of organizing an online conference, this year's FAR conference will be live again on Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21 at our location in Breukelen (Nyenrode).
We have put together an interesting and varied program!
There will be academic presentations, where a young professional will act as discussant.
On both days there will also be a keynote speaker. On Monday this will be Hanzo van Beusekom of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and on Tuesday we welcome Yasmine Chahed of Alliance Manchester Business School.
In addition, on Monday we have found BusySeasonTalks willing to host a live session with two academics (Therese Grohnert and Mark Peecher) and a practitioner, Auke de Bos (EY).
On Tuesday, there will be a panel discussion featuring Agnes Koops (PwC),
Chris Fonteijn and Marlies de Vries (Quartermasters for the Future of Accountancy), Edo Kienhuis (IAASB board member) and Martijn Bos (Eumedion), led by Jan Bouwens.
By using the buttons below you can find the full program on our website or go directly to the registration form.
In case you cannot be there physically, the conference will also be available via Live stream. You will be able to watch and listen, but not ask questions. On the morning of Monday 20 June, we will share the link with you via the FAR website and LinkedIn.
If you have any questions, please contact us at info@foundationforauditingresearch.org.
We hope to welcome you in Breukelen on Monday 20 June and/or Tuesday 21 June!

FARview #21 with Olof Bik on 'Root cause analysis'
In this FARview podcast, Olof Bik (Professor of Behavioral Auditing at Nyenrode Business University) discusses the topic of root cause analysis, a hot topic in auditing for the past 10 years. Among other things, he discusses the practice note he wrote on root cause analysis (Ten considerations for conducting Root Cause Analysis in auditing).
The basis for the practice note (and for a report on root cause analysis by the NBA Public Interest Steering Committee) was laid in a so-called FAR Joint Working Group, in which ten accounting firms shared their knowledge on root cause analysis in a 'safe haven'.
Bik discusses the origin and usefulness of root cause analysis for the accountancy practice, supplemented with many practical examples.
